Sunrise, Sunset
Copyright 2006 Hobbes Yeo. All Rights Reserved
The sun is just about to peek over the horizon at MacRitchie Reservoir.
Sunrise (through storm clouds) over Pulau Ubin, Singapore
Sunset (hidding into the clouds) at Changi Boardwalk, Singapore
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years
One season following another
Laden with happiness and tears

Tigers
Poem by Bill Watterson (Calvin & Hobbes)

Tigers are mean.
Tigers are fierce.
Tigers have teeth
and claws that pierce.
Tigers are great,
they can't be beat.
If I was a tiger,
that would be neat.
Tigers are nimble
and light on their toes,
my respect for tigers
continually grows.
Tigers are perfect,
the e-pit-o-me
of good looks and grace
and quiet dignity.
Tigers are great!
They're the toast of the town.
Life's always better
when a tiger's around!

Being National Day, everyone was decked out in red, even the cows.
Some chose to show their patriotism in a more unconventional manner.
While the nation celebrated, others kept a close watch over her.

These are Singapore's 25-pounder artillery guns. Used in the 1940s as part of the island's defences, these guns have been retired to being ceremonial guns.
When the President reviews the Guard-of-Honour contingents, these 25-pounders are fired as a mark of highest respect. This is known as the 21-gun salute, a military tradition which dates back to the 14th century.
